We had a fun time at our first book club meeting, and even though we were
few in number-we had some serious bookworms on hand!
We decided that for the first month we would read The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd. We thought it would be a fairly easy read to start with, it includes some serious issues, yes, it's a little sad, and yet it has some fun and happy things too. What can I say, I like it. I hope you do too.
I got a book club kit from Orem Library, so there are 12 copies of the book that anyone who's interested can borrow. I had Kurt take them to the Novell office where you or your spouse can pick one up. There are also some small book journals so you can write down your thoughts on the book. So-go grab one from Kurt's office! I even made him hang a sign in the window. Haha.
We will have the next meeting at my house and I will lead the discussion. We will, of course, have some refreshments and we hope to see you there! We are planning on holding the meeting on the second Tues again, May 12 at 7:00 or 8:00 p.m. Let me know what time is better for you! Feel free to contact me anytime. Below is a list of what we have picked for the next few months and a list of suggested books that those of us at the meeting have enjoyed. More details to follow!
